Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Reports To: Statutory Reporting Team, Accounting Manager

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Prepare audit file for all entities under job responsibility.
* Prepare statutory journals as required.
* Prepare statutory accounts.
* Prepare draft accounts in advance of audit commencing; update Director’s report, Accounting Policies & Disclosure notes.
* Communicate with all groups and ensure all audit PBC requirements are met.
* Ensure all audit queries are dealt with on a timely basis.
* Work with other internal teams within Symantec in order to ensure successful audit completion including Legal, Tax etc
* Act as a single point of contact during the audit
* Prepare reconciliation pack for management review, respond to review questions etc.
* Ensure timely filing of all statutory accounts
* Escalate issues to manager
* Keep up to date of new accounting standards and legal changes that may affect statutory accounts
* Support the audits on any future acquisitions,
* Work with other areas of Finance to ensure knowledge of entity activity throughout the year is maintained.
* Complete profit and loss and balance sheet analytics on a quarterly basis
* Support the liquidation of dormant entities
* Assist manager in dealing with ad-hoc issues
* Track and monitor compliance by updating and reviewing dashboards, following up on outstanding activities and following up on open compliance activities with Subsidiary

Requirements:

* Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
* At least 4 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Preferably Senior Executives specializing in Finance – Corporate Finance/Investment/Merchant Banking or equivalent.
* Full-Time positions available
* Audit practice experience essential preferably with Big4 Company.
* Two years post qualification experience essential.
