Job Description
The position reports to the Deals Desk Director and works closely with the SAPAC Sales Teams, Sales Management, Finance, ISG (Solution Management and Marketing), Legal and Operations. This individual provides pricing guidance to ensure comprehensive understanding of risks and financial opportunities for major bids, quotes and proposals. Trusted business partner and advisor to the relevant business area.
Key Responsibilities
Minimize NCR’s Commercial and Financial exposure and risk in major Sales Opportunities and Engagements.
* Key Business partner in terms of providing pricing recommendations and consultative support to area and regional Sales Leaders. Main areas of consultation are NCR value proposition, bid pricing strategy, TCO analysis, competitive tactics, pricing, packaging and terms, revenue recognition, standard and non-standard terms and conditions, negotiating strategy, and leasing / financing issues.
* Lead bid opportunity through the bid review process, incl. ensuring that proper Bid Qualification takes place.
* Ensure compliance to bid review and pricing thresholds.
* Undertake gross margin analysis for specific customer opportunities through the construction of Profit and Loss statements where appropriate.
* Provide on-going financial analysis on historical bid trends, competitive price positioning, margin results and price erosion.
* Ensure that all bids / quotes / proposals receive the appropriate financial, commercial and management approval prior to submission.
* Coordinate with dedicated centralized Corporate functions in Finance, Legal, Product Marketing, etc, to enable more effective competitive wins.
* Participate in regional pricing and strategic initiatives.
* Coordinate with Customer Services maintenance pricing for deals containing solution and customer services offerings.
* Ensure applicable Sarbanes Oxley and Multiple Element Accounting requirements are implemented.
* Educate field sales organization and other teams relevant to Bookable Order Criteria, Revenue Recognition and Deals Desk processes.
* Remain up to date in terms of NCR’s business model, market and product knowledge.
* Ad hoc projects as required.
* Ensure the WW Deals Desk Bid Process including support material, systems and tools are available to all regional Sales teams. This includes all relevant policy and procedures.
Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree preferably in Accounting and Finance
* Recognized professional Accounting / Business qualification
* Demonstrated financial/analytical skills gained through formal education or work experience
* Good working knowledge of US GAAP and International Accounting Standards, with particular regard to recording revenue related transactions in line with external and internal requirements.
* Experience / knowledge of technology sector sales and channels operations
* Financial and Customer Services experience a plus
* Ability to work comfortably with senior management
* Ability and confidence to interact with colleagues at all levels, across multiple countries and cultures etc;
* Ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High level of motivation and initiative
* Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
